Ko Samui Holiday are becoming more popular every year
Although Ko Samui in the eastern side of the Andaman Sea is already quite crowded holiday maker love it, actually this is one of the top travel destinations in Asia in the leisure segment.
Ko Samui is fun and beach life pure especially in the night mood is running hot and not only at the famous full moon beach parties. The bigger beaches such as Chaweng, which is the most active, are heavy used during the day by tourists and all kind of "flying" traders. In the night the restaurants are encroaching the beach almost down to the waterline.

Close runner up is Lamai and Maenam Beach all waterfronts have beach resorts, bungalows and all kind of other accommodations right behind. Naturally busy crows and that means noise, but it is possible to find some stretches of sand without noise.
The island is extremely commercialized but has some very attractive waterfronts with breathtaking panoramas; this is one of the attractions to make tourists to travel there. Hot nightlife on certain parts is on every day. Beer fill up stations, some call them bars line the roads and companion is almost for sure waiting there, no matter which gender, they have three here, yes it is amazing Thailand.

The tropical emerald colored water of the Andaman Sea is lined with palm trees weeping in the breeze. Granite and limestone boulder beaches line the seafront of fine sand.
If you want to escape this for a quiet waterfront just take a taxi or rent a "motocyce" and drive along the ring road. Within a couple of minutes you will find exactly what you want. In the evening just stroll along the waterfront and have some tasty seafood in one of the restaurants set into the sand.

After maybe take some beers in the bar nearby.
If you intend to buy something from the hawker, first bargaining is a must and second check the item carefully before you pass the money since many times they send the junk out to be sold to the foreigners.

A elephant ride on Ko Samui
|
Elephant ride at Ko Samui |
is a real attraction for the whole family about half hour
around Bath 500,-, needs negotiation, it's a interesting experience, no need to
be afraid nothing negative will happen.
In Phuket, they want about Baht 1000,- per head, when you
look into the eyes of of the elephant camp operator you can virtually see the $ sign rotating in
his eyes expecting to milk the tourist, better be careful otherwise they milk
you merciless, this guys don't know when enough is enough. They count on the
effect that the father can hardly say no when the kids want to ride the
elephant.
Unfortunately they look at you as a walking ATM machine
where they only need to push the button and money comes out. At Krabi e.g. they
call the tourists "lame turtle" which the quick locals should milk.
There are plenty of not so nice things going on in the
country, in general stay away from from Tuk-Tuk, Minibus drivers and Jet
Sky operators, it gets physical very quick.
The later rent you this stuff and after show you some
scratches and if you don’t pay for this immediately it gets physical, that's
the same with many car and motorbike rentals, this negative things happen every
day.
If you experience any trouble immediately call the police,
they know this scams since they deal with it every day and they are on your side. If you want to stay away from this people go an a live aboard tour it's expensive but for sure no trouble.
